No, it won’t. Upon graduation, you’ll have earned the same public health degree as SDSU’s on-campus students — a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from San Diego State University.

Our online master of public health program is designed with today’s busy professionals in mind. The coursework is entirely online, which means that you can earn your degree while also navigating a busy work schedule, family obligations, and other responsibilities.
The coursework in SDSU’s 22-month online MPH in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science program is broken up into 51 units. You’ll take two 3-unit courses every eight weeks. The curriculum includes ten foundational public health courses, which cover a range of essential public health-related topics.

When you enroll in an academic program at SDSU Global Campus, you’re joining the San Diego State University community even if you’re not on campus. This means that you’ll have access to many of the same services, programs, cultural centers, clubs, and resources that SDSU’s on-campus students enjoy.

According to SDSU policy, the maximum number of graduate level courses that students can transfer in to apply to their program is nine units or three courses, which have to be approved by the Graduate Advisor for the degree.

All MPH students are required to complete an Applied Practice Experience (APE) which is defined as a hands-on opportunity for MPH students to implement classroom learning of public health knowledge and skills in a real world setting.
Students must complete a minimum of 130 hours. It can be unpaid or paid at a place of employment as long as the scope/duties meet criteria. For employment of 6 months or more, duties must be different from regular duties and students must submit an Employment Verification Form.
